IHG to cease management of Crowne Plaza Karon Beach Hotel

InterContinental Hotels Group has been served with Notice of Termination of the Management Agreement for the Crowne Plaza Karon Beach hotel, following the sale of the property by the hotel owners Siam Resorts Company Ltd.

Jan Smits, chief operating officer, Southern Asia, InterContinental Hotels Group Asia Pacific, said, “InterContinental Hotels Group will continue to manage our current portfolio of five hotels in Thailand, in Bangkok, Phuket and Phi Phi Island. We are very committed to expanding our brand portfolio in Thailand and hotels scheduled to open over the next three years include three InterContinental Resorts in Pattaya, Koh Samui and Phi Phi Island, and the Crowne Plaza Sukhumvit in Bangkok.”
