Blue Canyon Country Club in Phuket offers Pilates Sessions with Fitness Maestro

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 25 July 2006

Following the well-received treatment sessions with holistic health consultant, Roger Moore, the Blue Canyon Country Club is introducing a new series of fitness sessions with Daniel Dittmar. For the month of August, Daniel will be based out of the Blue Canyon Country Club and will be conducting specially tailored Pilates exercises aimed at improving overall health and wellness for members and guests.

Daniel’s Pilates exercises are based on sound biomechanics and physiological principles that aim to bring about maximum health benefits to the body. Widely recognised as a toning exercise, Pilates also focuses on the deep core musculature and works from the inside out to create stability, strength and power. Regular sessions of Pilates can also help enhance movement capabilities in everyday activities and even on the golf course.

Daniel will be offering four different 60-min sessions during his time at the Blue Canyon Country Club. These sessions range from the convenient Pilates Matwork session that can be done anytime, anywhere to the Travel Training session especially tailored for busy individuals who are constantly on the go.

Trained as a qualified Exercise Physiologist, Daniel has 8 years of experience under his belt.

Along with his Polestar Pilates certifications Daniel has also worked closely with Lynne Robinson of Body Control Pilates and Rehabilitation Dynamics in Australia, he also taught at Chiva-Som in Hua Hin. He currently runs a wellness consultancy firm in Singapore and develops projects that cater for health and awareness at the workplace and also lectures regularly for the Singapore Sports Council and Blackburn College’s Diploma in Sport and Exercise.

“Many of our members at the Blue Canyon Country Club are avid golfers and frequent business travelers. Engaging Daniel to conduct the Pilates sessions will help incorporate fitness into their busy lives and also help them improve in their golf game, giving them the best of both worlds,” said Mr Sia Leng Yuen, chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Canyon Country Club.
