Etihad Signs Up to Jeppesen Flight Operations System

Travel News Asia Monday, 24 July 2006

Etihad Airways and Jeppesen (UK) have signed a contract which will see OPSControl, Jeppesen’s premier flight operations management system, installed in the UAE national airline’s Operations Control Center in Abu Dhabi.

Etihad has signed up to the flight planning, weather & NOTAM and EasyBrief modules.

Ian Ferguson-Brown, Head of Brand Management and Communication at Etihad Airways, said, “Due to our existing commercial relationship and excellent support provided by Jeppesen (UK), signing up to OPSControl was an easy decision. We will continue to work closely together in future.”

The rapidly expanding airline chose the OPSControl system on the basis of its ability to integrate with the airline’s other operations systems, increased automation and streamlining of dispatch functions.

OPSControl enables airlines of all sizes to perform profitability analysis, schedule planning, crew management, flight and decision support tools, and post-flight analysis.

The system integrates, automates and streamlines operations and management functions, allowing operations staff to monitor more aircraft and manage more flights effectively.

The new deal strengthens the existing bond between the two companies, with Etihad already using Jeppesen’s Airway Manuals, OpsData and E-Link systems.
