Hertz UAE to focus on Outbound Business at Arabian Travel Market

Travel News Asia Monday, 24 April 2006

Hertz UAE will unveil plans for an enhanced travel service for customers from the Middle East during next month’s Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, both for inbound and outbound clients.

The company, which is part of the Al Futtaim Group, will use the region’s leading travel show to promote its World on Wheels scheme, which allows travellers to arrange a vehicle at an array of holiday destinations ahead of their trip.

With its network of more than 7,400 branches in 150 countries, this international reservations facility guarantees travellers a Hertz car which has undergone a 40 point quality check when they reach their destination.

At the ATM the focus will be on destinations popular with Middle East travellers such as the UK, France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany, as well as well liked Middle Eastern destinations; and the company will highlight special packages and the range of vehicles that can be booked across the world.

Customers will be invited to take models such as the Ford Street Ka or the Mazda MX5 for a spin around London, while visitors heading for the French Riviera or Italy’s Amalfi coast might opt for something chic such as a Peugeot 307 Cabriolet or the Smart Cabriolet.

Business travellers heading for the European cities can choose from Hertz’s Prestige Fleet which includes a range of the latest executive vehicles such as the Mercedes C Class and the Subaru Legacy.

This year Hertz UAE has joined forces with the Department of Tourism Commerce and Marketing (DCTM) and will be demonstrating their services at the DCTM stand (number 4300).

Bob Farrow, General Manager, Hertz UAE, said, “Outbound leisure and business travel from the Middle East is a strong business for us and we are always looking for new ways to make our customers’ lives easier.

“Our international reservations centre allows holiday makers to pay in local currency and to have a car of their choice waiting for them when they arrive at their destination – we take care of everything.

“What’s more, they can enjoy peace of mind in the knowledge that wherever they are in the world they are guaranteed the same high quality Hertz service that they enjoy back home. They can take advantage of all the latest technology such as the Never Lost satellite navigation system which is being rolled out across Hertz branches in Europe.”

Further special packages are expected be announced during the ATM.
