One
of the biggest employment opportunities the Hunter Valley’s hospitality industry has ever seen will take place this coming Monday 27 February, as the
soon-to-open Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley holds its recruitment open day and information session.
More than 300 people are expected to attend the session, hopeful for one of the 200 full time and casual positions Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley is
looking to fill before it opens on 1 May. General Manager, Neil Houghton is hoping to place as many locals as possible.
“Employment opportunities like this are extremely rare in the Hunter Valley, and we’re expecting a huge turnout on the day. We’d like to make as
many jobs available to people from the Hunter and Newcastle regions as we can, and I’d encourage anyone who is interested to apply – whether
they have experience and qualifications or are embarking on their career in hospitality,” Mr Houghton said.
“We’re looking for a full range of skilled and entry-level candidates, from porters, room and public area attendants, food and beverage personnel and
concierge and front office staff through to golf attendants, apprentice and qualified chefs, trades people, spa therapists and kid’s club attendants.”
Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley
is located in the heart of the Hunter on Wine Country Drive, the hotel will feature an 18 hole golf course, extensive fitness
centre, outdoor heated pool, day spa, tennis courts and a kid’s club. The 150 room hotel will also feature 72 two-bedroom villas, extensive
banqueting, meeting and exhibition facilities with two restaurants, and three bars.
Prospective employees are asked to bring a current resume and passport sized photograph, as well as any relevant qualifications.
“This is going to be one of the best hotels the Hunter Valley has ever seen, and we’re very excited about meeting the people who will make that
happen,” Mr Houghton added.
