International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC),
one of the world’s largest commercial leasing companies and a subsidiary of American International Group,
Inc, has signed a contract with Airbus for six additional A320 Family aircraft. The deal takes ILFC’s orders for the Airbus A320 Family to more than
430, and its total orders for all Airbus types to over 600, including more than 120 A330/A340s, 16 A350s and 10 A380s.
“Worldwide demand for airliners, and especially the Airbus A320 Family, remains strong, so it makes sense to top up our orders from time to time
so as to maintain aircraft availability for our customers,” said ILFC Chairman and CEO Steven Udvar-Hazy. “The Airbus A320 Family has been a real
winner for us and, with improvements such as the new and improved cabin, it continues to get better and better.”
ILFC is Airbus’ largest single customer worldwide.
