WAFI opens its First Owned and Managed Hotel - Arabian Park Hotel in Dubai

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 20 June 2006

The Wafi Group recently opened its first owned and managed hotel, a new hotel in Dubai - the Arabian Park Hotel (APH). Originally intended as a short-term let residence, the 318 room property was converted into a Wafi owned and managed business and leisure hotel.

“The results of a feasibility study conducted by Wafi during the initial design stage indicated that there was exceptional demand in the emirate for affordable, short-stay business and leisure traveller accommodation,” said Mark Lee, General Manager, APH.

“The property in Jadaf, just five minutes from Dubai World Trade Centre and the central business district, and 10 minutes from Dubai International Airport, provided the perfect opportunity to create a mid-market hotel to meet that demand. And the end of year opening of the third crossing over the creek will make the area one of the most accessible in Dubai.”

Each floor of APH has its own multi-functional guest lounge complete with a large plasma TV, comfortable reading areas, internet work stations and a secluded library/meeting room.

The hotel has a first floor modern business centre with internet access, meeting room and secretarial services. An extensive gym, state-of-the-art salt water swimming pool and terrace is available on the ground level.

The hotel boasts six distinctive room styles – Standard King, Standard Queen, Standard Twin, Junior Suite, Arabian Park Executive and Arabian Park Executive Junior Suite. Each room is elegantly furnished and equipped with satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, a hairdryer, IDD telephone, internet access, a mini fridge and a safe deposit box.

APH guests staying in the executive suites also have exclusive additional bathroom amenities and a complimentary on-arrival laundry or pressing service. There are three floors of non-smoking rooms.

The Arabian Park Hotel offers five F&B outlets which include: ‘The Brasserie’: an all day dining venue with the business traveller in mind, ‘The Oasis Lounge and Bar’: a combination of a cocktail lounge and wine bar, ‘The Pool Terrace’: provides a menu of light dishes, ‘The Deli’: a New York style delicatessen and ‘The Arabian Park Club’: a seventh floor hospitality lounge for Executive Suite guests, including canapés and early evening cocktails.
