From its next summer timetable season, Finnair is adding flights to Amsterdam, Gothenburg and Kiev in response to strong demand.

“Late evening/early morning flights to Amsterdam are of special service to Dutch businessmen in Finland, but the later evening departure from Helsinki is also very suitable for Finnish passengers,” said Petteri Kostermaa, Vice President, Networks Strategy and Management. “There are also great connections with our flights to Delhi which opened a couple of weeks ago.”

The new Amsterdam flights bring the daily frequencies on six days of the week to the Dutch destination to three. The flights depart from Helsinki at 20.10 and arrive at 21.40. The planes ‘overnight’ at Amsterdam before a 7.40 morning return to Helsinki, arriving at 11.05.

Flights to Gothenburg in Sweden are to be increased at the end of March 2007 from three to four daily. The need for more capacity has arisen from increased sales for Finnair’s Asian flights in the entire west of Sweden area.

“Passenger figures on Finnair flights from Gothenburg to Asia on Finnair flights have increased by 90% in the last year,” saidKostermaa.

The new flights, leaving from Helsinki at 11.45 and from Gothenburg at 12.50, also connect well with Finnair’s New York and Russian services. The evening flights have been brought forward to an earlier time, departing Helsinki at 16.00 and from Gothenburg at 17.05.

In April 2007 Finnair will also add a second weekly departure to the Ukraine capital, Kiev. In cooperation with Ukraine International Airlines, Finnair will be able to offer a total of five flights week to Kiev. Departures from Helsinki will be at 10.00, with the return leaving at 12.50.
