InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is
set to open two flagship hotels this November, the InterContinental London Park Lane and InterContinental Boston.
InterContinental London Park Lane
Reopening 6 November after £60 million in renovations, the newly renamed InterContinental London Park Lane,
located at Number One Park Lane, is situated adjacent to London’s famed Buckingham Palace, Hyde and Green
Parks.
The InterContinental London Park Lane will feature 387
guestrooms, 60 spacious designer suites, and one stunning split-level ‘London’ suite; a 188 square-metre chic urban spa, with five treatment
rooms including one discreet VIP room, two private spa suites; an entire floor of contemporary meeting space, complete with floor-to-ceiling
windows; a dynamic mood-changing lobby bar; and breathtaking views over London’s historic skyline.
Several culinary enhancements
have been made such as the independent Italian destination restaurant, Theo Randall at The InterContinental, led by one of Britain’s most talented young chef’s, Theo
Randall. In addition, the hotel’s complementary restaurant, The Cookbook Cafe, will feature an innovative academy where up and coming chefs
will be invited to showcase their talents, offering hotel guests and London residents cookery classes and a culinary art
gallery of cookbooks.
InterContinental Boston
Scheduled to open on 3 November, the £168 million InterContinental Boston will make history as the brand’s first-ever hotel in Boston.
Located on the site of the Boston Tea Party, at the base of the Financial District, and within walking distance to a multitude of attractions such
as the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market and New England Aquarium, The InterContinental Boston will comprise a luxury hotel, exclusive
private residences and breathtaking waterfront gardens. The property will feature 424 luxurious guestrooms and suites, boasting stunning
harbour and city skyline views; 2,975 square-metres of meeting and private event space with high-tech amenities; a 24 hour business center; a
615 square-metre full service spa and a 24 hour state-of-the-art health club with indoor pool and steam room.
InterContinental Boston will also be home to three very distinctive and internationally themed beverage and dining concepts, including
a full-service, 24-hour restaurant. The Provencal themed signature eatery,
Miel, an authentic brasserie, will be joined by Rumba, a rum and private champagne bar celebrating New England’s rich history with the rum trade, as well as SUSHI-TEQ, a
high energy bar that will introduce an unusual cultural fusion, pairing sushi with vintage tequila’s from around the world.
In addition to these two new properties, the brand
has announced plans to open its first property in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA. Nestled at the
foot of Camelback Mountain on the highly-acclaimed Resort Row, the £133 million InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Paradise Valley,
AZ is projected to debut in early 2008. The property is owned and being developed by Crown Realty & Development Corporation and operated
by IHG’s Americas’ operations division, The Hotel Management Group.
