Ngong Ping 360 Partners New Lantao Bus for All-inclusive Lantau Explorer Packages

Travel News Asia Friday, 19 May 2006

Ngong Ping 360, Hong Kong’s new tourism attraction, has entered into a partnership with New Lantao Bus Co. (1973) (NLB) which will allow Hong Kong residents and visitors to enjoy full day explorer packages which pair the Ngong Ping Skyrail with NLB Explorer passes for their services on Lantau.

Two different types of packages are being offered: the Lantau Package which combines Ngong Ping 360 with unlimited travel on NLB bus services throughout Lantau, and Tai O Packages which add unlimited bus journeys between Ngong Ping and Tai O to the Ngong Ping 360 experience.

Both of the two types of packages can be combined with either roundtrip or one way journeys on the spectacular Ngong Ping Skyrail.

For a maximum of HK$118 on normal days, guests can enjoy return Ngong Ping Skyrail with an opportunity to explore the entire outlying island by presenting NLB’s unlimited trips day pass. Alternatively, the Tai O Package which costs HK$103 takes guests to experience return Skyrail with NLB bus round trip between Ngong Ping and Tai O.

Lantau, one of Hong Kong’s hottest new tourism destinations and its largest outlying island, now offers a wide range of experiences that will complement a day out at Ngong Ping 360.

Places of interest include the vast beaches of Silvermine Bay and Cheung Sha, the traditional fishing villages of Pui O and Tai O, Shek Pik Reservoir dam and Wisdom Path, home to the wooden replica of the Heart Sutra, one of Buddhism’s best-known sutra prayers, as well as Po Lin Monastery and the Tian Tan Buddha Statue that are located adjacent to the Ngong Ping Village.

“These new packages which combine the spectacular Ngong Ping 360 experience with unlimited travel by New Lantau Bus throughout the island will help visitors to really explore Lantau as Hong Kong’s premier tourism destination,” said Ngong Ping 360’s Managing Director, Mr Bill Calderwood.

“Our partnership with New Lantao Bus also supports our mission to boost tourism to Lantau Island as a whole.”

Opening at the end of June, Ngong Ping 360 is a dynamic new tourism experience which combines a stunning 5.7 km cable car journey with an impressive cultural themed village and easy access to the Tian Tan Buddha Statue, the world’s largest, seated, outdoor, bronze Buddha statue.
