Champagne Bar at the Soneva Fushi in the Maldives

Arrive at the jetty bar by bicycle, tricycle or on foot from along the islands sandy pathway threading beneath the overhanging jungle canopy. The island is just one and a half kilometers long, or less that one mile, and half a kilometer wide, so little effort is required to make the showtime. At the jetty end there is a choice of lounges or daybeds with comfy oversized cushions. The intimate thatched-roof bar also offers several stools for those who enjoy an exchange with the friendly bar hosts.

If Champers is not on the wish list for the evening, a selection of cocktail favorites and refreshing waters are on hand, together with a menu of light snacks which will prepare the taste buds for dinner at one of the three diverse restaurant choices on offer.

The Champagne Bar, is in fact, an all day choice for guests desiring easy access to the underwater world of Soneva Fushi, with its myriad of colourful lagoon inhabitants. Underwater enthusiasts can hone their scuba diving prowess without committing to the big dive, while snorkeling is equally rewarding. Lazing away some idyll moments on a sun lounge beneath large umbrellas may also be the pastime of choice.

A simple menu and wonderfully refreshing tropical juice drinks, together with the bar hosts specialties are available throughout the day.

Of course there are many vantage points from which to enjoy the sunsets at Soneva Fushi, and the Champagne Bar is just one, but it is a great alternative which should be experienced at least once. Who knows, it could become the favorite.
