Bintan Lagoon Resort joins WORLDHOTELS

Travel News Asia Tuesday, 18 July 2006

The picture postcard Bintan Lagoon Resort, one of Asia's biggest holiday and MICE retreats in a tropical paradise, just 55 minutes by high speed ferry from Singapore, is the latest new member of WORLDHOTELS.

The South China Sea resort on Indonesia's Riau Islands is fringed by two of the region's most beautiful championship 18-hole golf courses and features a range of world-class facilities.

With private balconies as a feature of all 416 spacious rooms and suites, styled with contemporary tropical elegance and distinctive Asian décor, Bintan Lagoon Resort joins WORLDHOTELS as a First Class Collection member.

The resort has its own leisure centre with a host of recreational facilities designed specifically for family holidays. These range from an amusement arcade, archery and floodlit tennis courts to two giant swimming pools with slides, fully equipped gym, snooker, pool, basketball and a choice of tours and trekking. A range of extensive water-sports on the beach is also available.

The tranquil Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa offers a diverse menu of pampering, beauty, wellness and massage therapy.

Keeping youngsters occupied is a kids’ club for 4 to 12 year olds with daily activities such as pool games, origami, face-painting, cookie-making and sand castle building.

Golf is in a league of its own with two 18-hole award-winning championship courses, designed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Ian Baker-Finch.

A fully-integrated resort also catering to the MICE market, the property incorporates state-of-the-art conference facilities and the most comprehensive outdoor adventure training facility in the region for workshops on teamwork, communications and leadership.

Among an impressive range of dining options are eleven restaurants, bars and cafes offering a choice of al fresco dining, sumptuous buffets, cocktails by the pool, 'surf and turf' beach BBQs and restaurants serving Mediterranean, various Asian and authentic Japanese cuisine.
