Starwood opens its first Westin Hotel in Beijing

Today the first Westin hotel in Beijing - The Westin Beijing, Financial Street will open its doors to welcome guests.

Situated in the centre of the city with the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square to the East and Chang An Avenue to the South, The Westin Beijing, Financial Street has easy access to the city’s business, shopping, sightseeing and entertainment districts, and is only 40 minutes away from the airport.

“We’ve introduced innovative services and products in this hotel, that speak to the core essence of the Westin brand – personal renewal. These initiatives include the Unwind ceremony, an evening ritual, and Traveler’s Renewal, a program to ensure travelers free of any effect of travel on mind, body and spirit. We hope our guests visiting this enchanting capital of China will leave the hotel feeling better than when they arrive,” said Mr. Charlie Dang, general manager of the hotel.

When guests arrive, they will find themselves in an earth-toned lobby, surrounded by mood lighting and new-age music. They will also be treated to the scent of white tea. White Tea by Westin is a custom-designed scent that evokes the personality of the brand, aims to elevate the senses and transform any space. Highlighted with notes of geranium and freesia, the ingredients were carefully chosen because of their relaxing properties and are the result of almost a year of research and testing.

The Westin Beijing, Financial Street comprises two towers, each rising 26 stories high, one with 486 rooms and suites and the other with 205 residences. The hotel and residences reflects all that Westin has become famous for: Heavenly Bed , Westin WORKOUT ,Westin Kids Club, Service Express and Heavenly Crib. The hotel also houses China’s first Westin Heavenly Spa, drawing on modern hydrotherapy and ancient Chinese-inspired philosophy. The spa occupies a space of 2,094 sqm and with 2 double treatment rooms and 6 single treatment rooms.

The 486 contemporarily designed rooms which are a minimum of 40sqm in size, offering the ultimate in comfort and technology including a dramatic rainforest shower, LCD flat screen television, complimentary wireless high speed internet access, and Internet Protocol Phone with cordless handset. The Westin’s new Westin WORKOUT room provides the fitness facilities in the room to help maintain guests’ wellness routine and fitness regime in the privacy of their rooms.

The adjoining Westin Executive Residences are fully equipped apartments tailored toward longer stays. These 205 serviced residences offer a combination of one, two and three bedroom floor plans. Featuring a separate entrance from the main lobby, each apartment comes complete with contemporary furnishings, well equipped kitchens and appliances, home entertainment system, LCD flat screen television and complimentary high speed internet access.

A total of 1,686 sqm of meeting and banquet space is also available to suit every occasion. The ballroom is divisible by three for greater flexibility and an additional seven meeting rooms are all equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual facilities and an abundance of natural light. This dedicated meeting and banquet floor includes a specialized meeting planner’s lounge and business center, and enjoys complimentary wireless high speed internet access.

7 distinctive restaurants and bars are available to replenish with an array of cuisines ranging from Chinese, Italian, Asian and international. Senses is a contemporary buffet and a la carte restaurant that offers a unique combination of Asian and International cuisine. Prego, a modern Italian restaurant serves up authentic regional home-style dishes prepared by an Italian Chef de Cuisine. Jewel presents authentic Cantonese cuisine and signature dishes from around China with modern and innovative presentation. Treats, a great delicatessen offers guests with an extensive range of signature cakes, pastries, pies and handmade chocolates. Buzz is a chill out bar with resident DJ.
