Peter Högh Pedersen appointed General Manager of Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa

Hilton International recently appointed Peter Högh Pedersen as General Manager of the Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa.

Pedersen joins the international hospitality chain’s first and only Hilton Worldwide Resort in the Philippines, from Hilton Sharks Bay Resort in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt where he was responsible for the entire pre-opening set up, through to launch. Pedersen has been responsible for the management of the hotel operations at Hilton Sharks Bay Resort since 2001.

Said Pedersen of his latest appointment within the Hilton family of hotels in the Middle East Asia Pacific (MEAP) region, “I am delighted to be in the Philippines and presented with the opportunity to not only continue the great work that the outgoing General Manager and his team at Hilton Cebu Resort and Spa have laid as a solid foundation, but to surpass the international standards and expectations of every guest and visitor who steps into the property.”

A confident personality with a passion for challenge, Pedersen is a result focused individual who values honesty, teamwork and training, and has a resilient business attitude while remaining flexible and creative minded. In his spare time, the 39 year-old relaxes by skiing and scuba diving amongst other sporting activities.

Pedersen’s appointment follows closely on the heels of another senior executive level hire at Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa. Maria Lourdes (Odette) E. Aguilar was appointed Director of Sales and Marketing, responsible for driving leisure, corporate and MICE business from within the Philippines and key source markets to the Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa.

Aguilar’s extensive experience in the hospitality industry spans nearly 20 years, beginning from the front office and sales departments of an American hotel chain. She later led the sales teams in the pre-opening of The Richmonde Hotel and Astoria Plaza, both of which are five-star, deluxe city hotels in the business district of Ortigas, Pasig city in the Philippines. Prior to her assuming the position of Director of Sales and Marketing at the Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa, Aguilar was the Director of Sales and Marketing at Subic International Hotel in Subic Bay, Olongapo City, Philippines.

Echoing Pedersen’s passion and drive, Aguilar is dedicated to her profession, having participated in various training sessions in a multitude of sales, marketing and hospitality related disciplines throughout her professional career. Aguilar is married with three children.

The Hilton Cebu Resort & Spa is a 246 room French Mediterranean inspired resort located 10 minutes away from Mactan International Airport on Mactan Island in Cebu, Philippines. Officially opened in October 2005, the resort offers a variety of leisure and MICE services and facilities including five dining outlets, a Spa and Spa butler service, Meetings rooms and modern accommodation. Nestled on a private beach overlooking the emerald green waters of Mactan Island, the resort is Hilton’s first foray in the Philippines after an absence of 17 years from the archipelago.
