Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel opens in Bangkok

The Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel opens today on Soi 6 in one of Bangkok’s most prestigious districts, offering a promotional rate of 3,100 baht (US$84) a night with breakfast.

The property consists of two stylish towers tucked into Soi 6, just 100 metres from the Nana BTS Skytrain station that is just one stop way from the Bangkok underground interchange. It is also only minutes from the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre and near major commercial buildings and shopping centres.

Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel offers 386 rooms, including 241 suites with fully equipped pantries, a combination well suited for both leisure tourists and long staying corporate guests. Rooms are equipped with satellite and cable LCD televisions, plus modern work stations with broadband access and dedicated data ports.

Café de Nimes provides 24 hour dinning specialising in Mediterranean cuisine complemented by a tasty selection Thai and Asian favorites. International buffets are laid out three times a day, including an extensive seafood station for the evening meal. In the coming months Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel will add a Sunday brunch buffet with live jazz band. For lighter meals or snacks guests can stop by the ‘Hot Bread Deli’, offering a selection of pastries, baked goods and sandwiches. The hotel has two bars, the Petrus Lobby Lounge and Aziza pool side bar. 

Seven meeting rooms are available for Bangkok’s growing corporate meetings market , with the largest capable of handling up to 120 people classroom style. This is supported by the hotel’s business centre, secretarial services and wireless internet access in public areas.

Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, modern spa and fitness centre, tourist information assistance and concierge.

The promotional rate of 3,100 baht is valid until 15 October, 2006.
