IHG promotes David Traynor to Area Director of Sales and Marketing - Egypt

The InterContinental Hotels Group has promoted David Traynor to the position of Area Director of Sales and Marketing for the group in Egypt.

Traynor will remain based at the newly developed InterContinental Citystars overseeing all sales and marketing operations of this property as well as the sales strategies and market positioning of the 11 hotels within IHG's Egyptian portfolio.

David who is of Scottish origin has been working in the hospitality industry for over 12 years gaining international experience by working in a variety of countries including Thailand, Singapore, Philippine, Indonesia, and Australia.

Previous to working with InterContinental Hotels Group, Traynor worked with an American based Marketing Hospitality Co. as Asia Pacific Area Director of Sales and Marketing for five years joining Marriott International Hotels as Director of Sales and Marketing in 1999 based within the Asia Pacific Region. Group Director of Sales and Marketing with a boutique hotel company followed and in February 2005 he was asked to be part of InterContinental Citystars hotel team.

Included in Traynors Egypt portfolio are InterContinental Citystars Cairo, InterContinental Pyramids Park Resort Cairo, InterContinental Abu Soma Resort Red Sea, InterContinental Resort & Casino Hurghada, Holiday Inn Safaga Palace, InterContinental Garden Reef Resort Sharm El Sheikh, Crowne Plaza Sharm El Sheikh Resort, Amphoras Holiday Inn Resort Sharm El Sheikh, Sultan Garden Holiday Inn Resort Sharm El Sheikh, and Holiday Inn Resort Taba, InterContinental Taba Heights Resort (due to open April 2006) and Holiday Inn Citystars (due to open end of 2006).
