Travel News Asia Friday, 17 November 2006

Hong Kong Express Airways has launched services between Hong Kong and Chengdu.

“We are delighted to be once again launching services to another important business and leisure hub. Providing more options and alternatives to passengers has always been central to our objectives. Plus it is always a privilege to take an active role in promoting cultural and economic exchange with mainland China whilst boosting tourism between Hong Kong and interesting destinations,” said Hong Kong Express Airways Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Tse.

Chengdu - one of the most populous cities in China is a well-developed commercial and industrial centre with an excellent transportation network. Besides being the home of China’s giant pandas, Chengdu is a famed leisure spot and is also the primary inland access point to Tibet.

Currently flying to destinations across Greater China and South East Asia with an all Embraer fleet, Hong Kong Express Airways will continue its expansion with the scheduled delivery in early 2007 of Boeing 737 aircraft.
