BA Connect to increase services from London City

Travel News Asia 16 March 2006

British Airways is to link two of the world's major fashion and design centres with a new direct service between London City Airport and Milan.

The daily service, operated by British Airways regional subsidiary airline BA Connect, will begin on 2 May 2006, with fares starting at 89 return, including taxes, fees and charges.

BA Connect is also to increase its daily schedule between London City Airport and Edinburgh from five to seven in response to increased customer demand. London City - Edinburgh prices start from 95 return.

Richard Gooding, Managing Director for London City Airport is pleased to see British Airways responding to customer demand, "Our route network at London City Airport is unique. Destinations we serve are very much determined by our customers and this ensures we meet their business travel needs."

Elsewhere on the network new routes are being offered from Birmingham to Berlin and Belfast.

There will be additional capacity on the Birmingham - Geneva service, however the British Airways London City-Geneva service will be withdrawn for the summer season.
