Travel News Asia 16 January 2006

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, part of the fast-growing Brussels-based Rezidor SAS Hospitality, is back in business in Dubai with the opening of the first tower of its ‘New Breed’ property in the heart of the emirate’s emerging global media hub.

The first phase of the hotel features 121 contemporary styled rooms equipped with Wireless Internet Access, tea and coffee making facilities, an interactive plasma screen TV and a DVD player.

“Since the property is within walking distance from most companies located here, it will serve as a perfect meeting point during and after business-hours, while at weekends it will offer a pleasant place to stay for our customers,” said Siegfried Nierhaus, General Manager, Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Media City.

The first tower at Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Media City provides guests with a range of culinary experiences. Certo serves a selection of antipasti, home-made pasta and pizzas from a traditional wood fired oven while the Icon Bar provides a daily ‘Tapas’ menu. The Media Lounge serves coffee, fine pastries and juices in the day and aperitifs or cocktails at night and provides free internet access. Tamanya Terrace is a roof top bar which overlooks The Palm, Jumeirah.

Its leisure facilities include Senso – a wellness centre with five Euro-Asian themed massage rooms, steam bath and outdoor swimming pool as well as a state-of-the-art gym.

The property will have two towers linked by a first floor bridge. The second tower is set to open in mid 2006 and will have 125 rooms including 5 suites, an all day dining restaurant, an Asian fusion restaurant with a bar and a second pool on the terrace. The design concept was created by Singapore-based IMA interiors, which specialises in boutique hotels and high-end residential developments.
