Nakheel appoints main contractor for Marina Residences & Town Houses, The Palm Jumeirah

Nakheel has appointed the Shimizu Corporation as the main contractor for the Marina Residences & Town Houses, The Palm Jumeirah.

Shimizu Corporation, a leading international general contractor, signed the agreement with Nakheel to construct the basements, superstructure, architectural works, interior finishings and landscaping of the high-end condominium which is at the tip of the trunk on The Palm Jumeirah.

Speaking on behalf of Nakheel, Marwan Al Qamzi, Head of Procurements and Contracts said, "Our priority is to service our clients efficiently within a set time frame and Shimizu Corporation were the only company who could meet our high standards and requirements. Shimizu Corporation has delivered countless projects, earning a reputation for excellence and this is why we want them involved in our project."

Mr. Shinjiro Kuwabara, the General Manager of the Dubai office for Shimizu Corporation commented, "The Marina Residences & Town Houses has one of the best locations on The Palm Jumeirah which will be the number one address in Dubai and so we are delighted with this appointment and extremely proud to be associated with such a prestigious company and project." 

Shimizu Corporation will be working alongside the main consultants for the project, Dar Al-Handash, one of the biggest consultancy firms in the Middle East. Also involved in the project was HHCP Design International Inc. a leading USA based architectural firm who developed the concept design of the project as well as local landscaping design firm Al Khatib Cracknell who were responsible for the landscape concept design.

The Marina Residences & Town Houses, The Palm Jumeirah is a residential complex composed of six residential towers that rest on two landscaped podiums and are faced with marinas. The six towers are each 15 storeys high and hold 940 apartments and penthouses; a further 40 units rest on the landscaped podiums in the form of townhouses.
