Finnair to launch non-stop flights to Madrid and Manchester

Travel News Asia Thursday, 13 July 2006

Finnair is improving its connections between Helsinki and Madrid as well as Helsinki and Manchester by making these services non-stop. The stopover in Stockholm will be discontinued on the Manchester route starting September and on the Madrid connection starting 29 October, with the introduction of the airline's winter traffic schedule.

At the same time, Finnairs Barcelona flights will also see a timetable change. In the future, the route will be operated from Helsinki in the afternoons, not mornings, and the Barcelona-Helsinki service will be operated earlier in the morning. The rescheduling offers better connections from Barcelona to Finnairs Asian flights.

Travel from Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester to Finnairs Asian destinations has been on the rise. We no longer need to make a stop in Stockholm to carry more passengers. We can offer our customers a better product than before and our Asian strategy is enhanced: we now have a one-stop service via Helsinki from Asia to all over Europe, said Finnair VP Network Strategies and Management Petteri Kostermaa.
