Dragonair is to operate a total of 76 additional services, including 20 charter flights, in order to meet the expected high demand for travel this summer. Among the additional services planned are 18 to Taipei, 17 to Kota Kinabalu, 12 to Sanya, and nine to Tokyo.

“We’re expecting a very busy time this summer, as families and friends take breaks to a variety of destinations over the school holidays,” said Liza Ng, General Manager, Hong Kong and Southern China.

“Taipei and Tokyo are the two hot city destinations this year, while Kota Kinabalu and Sanya are popular with those looking for a beach holiday away from it all.”

Meanwhile, 20 flights have been chartered for package tours by travel agents to four destinations: Sendai in Japan; Urumqi in the China Mainland; Phuket in Thailand; and Pusan in South Korea.

Eight to 14-day twin-city package tours are being offered to Xian and Urumqi, departing on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from August 21 until September 16, and on September 23. Travellers have the option of flying to the ancient Chinese capital and back from Urumqi or vice versa.

Five-day, twin-city package tours are available to Tokyo and Sendai, with departures each Monday and Thursday from July 13 to August 21. Again, travellers have the option of flying to either city first.

Five-day package tours to Phuket will depart on August 8 and 12.

Travellers should contact their travel agent for more information about the packages.

Seven charter services will meanwhile be operated from Pusan in South Korea for inbound package tours to Hong Kong.
