Travel News Asia Friday, 12 May 2006

ZUJI has appointed Mr Roshan Mendis, a native of Sri Lanka who has spent the past 10 years working for Sabre and Travelocity, as a senior member of the Executive Team.

Roshan Mendis

In Roshan’s most recent role at Travelocity, as Vice President of Business Development, he was primarily responsible for marketing Travelocity’s business-to-business ‘white label’ offerings to airline and other partners and renewing strategic distribution deals. Prior to that, as the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Roshan managed the bulk of Travelocity’s distribution business, including Travelocity’s relationships with Yahoo! and America Online (AOL) in the USA and headed the Travelocity Affiliate Program.

Based in ZUJI's Singapore headquarters, Roshan is responsible for leading many aspects of ZUJI’s business, including managing and developing ZUJI’s Travel Partner Network (business-to-business), managing hotel, airline and other supplier relationships in the Asia Pacific region, as well as overseeing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy and advertising/sales relationships. Roshan will also lead ZUJI’s just-announced entry to India via the set up of a ‘Travelocity India’ site and team.

Roshan Mendis commented on his appointment, “ZUJI has a terrific team and vision for online travel in Asia Pacific, and that’s something that is very exciting and motivating to be a part of. I am looking forward to the challenges of the new role, to rolling up my sleeves and helping make it even more successful than it is already.”

Roshan immigrated from Dallas, Texas to Singapore with his family to accept the position with ZUJI.
