Finnair launches flights to Tuscany

Travel News Asia Friday, 12 May 2006

Finnair today launches flights to Tuscany. Flights will be operated directly from Helsinki to the heart of the area, Pisa International Airport on Airbus A320 aircraft. Tuscany is Finnair’s fourth scheduled destination in Italy, the other destinations are Rome, Milan and Venice in the summer season.

“Tuscany is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Italy to which we now offer direct flights from Helsinki for the first time. It has also been a long-awaited addition to our popular Italian destinations for our Asian passengers,” said Finnair VP Network Strategies and Management Petteri Kostermaa.

The historical Tuscan cities of Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca and Livorno - in addition to the Chianti wine area located close by - create an unequalled entity offering something for everyone. The area's art treasures, architecture, local dining and shopping possibilities as well as the picture-perfect countryside that surrounds the cities ensure that no traveller will have problems with what to do with his or her time.

Finnair’s other new European destination this spring are Krakow, Edinburgh and Geneva. Flights to Nagoya, Japan begin in June.
