Hilton to Manage New Hotel in Ulaanbaatar

Travel News Asia Friday, 12 May 2006

Hilton Hotels Corporation and real estate developer Star Estates have signed an agreement for Hilton to manage the Hilton Ulaanbaatar, the newest and most lavish hotel development in the heart of Mongolia’s capital.

Scheduled to open in May 2008, Hilton Ulaanbaatar is ideally situated in the central area of downtown Ulaanbaatar, adjoined to Ulaanbaatar’s premier residential complex, lending further prestige to the hotel. The hotel is in close proximity to government buildings and corporate offices, as well as key attractions like the Nayramdal Park, also known as the National Recreational Park.

The Hilton Ulaanbaatar will provide 240 guestrooms, and four cutting edge restaurants and bars. Conference and Banqueting facilities will include a 500-seater ballroom and seven meeting rooms.

The city of Ulaanbaatar is situated north and slightly east of the centre of Mongolia, on the Tuul River, a sub tributary of the Selenga, in the valley at the foot of Bogda Uul mountain. Ulaanbaatar is served by the Chinggis Khan International Airport (formerly Buyant Ukhaa Airport) and is connected by road to most of the major towns in Mongolia and by rail to the Trans-Siberian railway and Chinese railroad systems.
