Travel News Asia Wednesday, 12 April 2006

Chinese travel distributor Byecity.com has selected Pegasus Solutions’ hotel distribution and commission processing services. Byecity.com will be able to offer real-time hotel reservations from more than 60,000 hotel properties around the world through the Pegasus Online Distribution Database.

“A new generation of Chinese consumers, corporate clients and individual business travelers are demanding more hotel choices,” said Dallas Zhang, general manager of Byecity.com. “Today’s Chinese travelers want an efficient website and easy payment options. We believe that launching post-pay hotel booking through Pegasus will enrich our hotel resources, provide multiple payment options and continue efficient, quality service to our customers.”

“A key selling factor for Byecity.com is the seamless functionality of Pegasus’ technology, which enables Byecity.com to integrate to our Chinese-interface distribution system,” Zhang added. “This level of functionality means our customers will have real-time access to hotel information, rates and inventory worldwide.”

“Byecity.com has one of China’s leading electronic systems for hotel and other travel reservations,” said Olivier Dombey, Pegasus’ regional vice president of sales for Asia Pacific. “The team at Byecity.com recognizes the competitive advantage that Pegasus’ technology and service brings to their website. In addition to its new web capabilities, Byecity.com enhances loyalty from travel agencies around the world through efficient and prompt payment of commissions. These services can help them expand their business, and tap into the increasing Chinese trend of outbound travel.”
