Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur joins WORLDHOTELS Deluxe Collection

Travel News Asia Wednesday, 12 April 2006

The stylish newly revamped Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur is the latest member of WORLDHOTELS.

Centrally located in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur's business and commercial district, close to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, Hotel Maya is a chic new transformation of a former 280-room hotel which has now been stylishly reconfigured into 100 studios and 107 suites.

With its gardens re-landscaped, the RM40 million makeover has created a “boutique urban resort” -- a tranquil haven in the heart of the hectic capital.

“We are delighted to welcome this chic and exciting new hotel to the WORLDHOTELS portfolio,” said Roland Jegge, VP Asia/Pacific of WORLDHOTELS.

Naturally ventilated and lifted atriums link to the reception lobby and its restaurants, while natural light and water elements create interest, textual and drama.

State of the art technology is incorporated with in-room DVD players, flat-screen televisions, advanced telephone system, broadband internet access and WI-FI.

Reducing the number of rooms also made space for extra spacious suites and attention to detail difficult to achieve in a large-scale hotel, said General Manager I. Z. Melvin.

“Our quest is to make guests feel at home, with privacy guaranteed and a dedicated team with a genuine desire to please and provide personalised service,” he said.

Entertainment is lively, stylish and trendy, while the hotel’s restaurants have been re-themed.

In the lobby lounge, English Afternoon Tea is served over weekends. The new specialty restaurant, Still Waters, provides contemporary dining with strong Japanese influence in “Sosaku” cuisine, combining tastes from Australia, Thailand, France, Korea and other parts of the world. The Sky Lounge is elegant and sophisticated with a touch of class boasting stunning night views – and incorporates a 12-seat executive boardroom with video-conferencing facilities.

For a day of pampering, the Anggun Spa offers extensive holistic treatments, while facilities also include a swimming pool, a fully equipped gymnasium, yoga and aerobic studio.

Focusing on smaller and more intimate meetings, the ballroom can accommodate up to 300. The banquet and meeting rooms cater for product launches, seminars, company dinners and weddings.
