Venues with a difference sure to impress at AIME 2006

Travel News Asia 1 February 2006

The 2500 buyers expected to attend AIME 2006, the AsiaPacific Incentives and Meetings Expo, are sure to be impressed with the wide range of venues with a difference on show when the exhibition opens 6 & 7 June at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

The recently opened, Q1 Resort and Spa on Australia’s Gold Coast will showcase its unique event space - the Skylight Room on level 78 which is part of the two level beachside observation deck, and the only one of its kind in Australia. A stylish ballroom able to be divided into three smaller meeting rooms, a boardroom and a spacious terrace make up the resort’s other meeting facilities.

Another Australian tropical venue with a difference is Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort. With a brand new boardroom (seating 22) and theatrette (seating 100) built by popular demand, the resort offers delegates the chance to get up close and personal with Wild Bottlenose Dolphins. Other action packed activities on offer include: whale watching cruises, 4WD Quad bike tours, scuba diving, snorkeling, para-sailing, 4WD Eco bus tours exploring the distinctive aspects of the world’s third largest sand island and sand tobogganing down sand dunes of up to 50 metres.

Or, for an event on the move, Perth’s own luxury Restaurant Train, Spirit of the West, couples award winning dining with the spectacular scenery of the Avon Valley. Each carriage dates back to the 1920’s and throughout the journey guests can enjoy an award winning (Gold Plate 2004) 5 course meal including fine wine from Western Australia’s own Jane Brook Winery. Each meal is prepared fresh on board and uses produce from the Swan Valley and surrounding areas.

New Zealand is well known for its action attractions. Visit the Christchurch stand to find out how Eventionz can create an extraordinary event for you.

Eventionz recently created a stand-out conference for Australian financial planners. Activities included river jetboating, country farm experiences, sheep drafting and gumboot tossing. Guests were also taken away to Middle Earth, for an unforgettable night of fine food and entertainment in a magnificent country mansion and woodland setting not far from the city.

Eventionz has appointed Destination Marketing Service (DMS) as its Australian sales office. DMS will showcase its portfolio of global destinations and Unique Venues, a concept borne from the growing demand for representation of exclusive properties to the Australian and New Zealand markets.

Unique Venues is an eclectic mix of secluded retreats, world-class golf resorts, superior city sanctuaries and rejuvenating spas catering for intimate board meetings of 12 through to large scale events for 1000.
