Qatar Airways to launch flights between Doha and Hong Kong on March 26, 2006

Qatar Airways has confirmed that its new daily non-stop flights between Doha and Hong Kong will commence on March 26, 2006.

The Hong Kong route - the first Asian service to feature Qatar Airways’ brand new inflight service will be operated with the modern Airbus A330-200 in a two class configuration of Business and Economy. Business Class features up to 24 seats reclining 160 degrees in a 2-2-2 configuration, while Economy has 259 seats.

Hong Kong will become Qatar Airways’ 12th Far East destination in a route network that already covers Osaka, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Manila, Cebu, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Yangon and Jakarta.

“As one of Asia’s major financial and tourism hubs, Hong Kong is a must for any airline to serve,” said Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, Akbar Al Baker. “Demand from both business and leisure travellers is consistently strong on Hong Kong routes and I believe that this, combined with our award winning levels of inflight comfort, will see our new service well received by the travelling public.

“We will offer passengers exceptional levels of service and excellent connections to the Middle East, Europe and Africa via our Doha hub.”
