InterContinental Hotels Group
has appointed Haitham Mattar as the group's new Director of Sales and Marketing for the Middle East and Africa region.
Mattar brings over 19 years of hospitality experience to his new role, having over 6 years experience with the
group. Beginning his career as a Front Desk Clerk in Atlanta, Georgia, Mattar spent the first 9 years of his career in the USA working his way up to the position of Operations Manager, returning to the UAE in 1996.
His most recent position was as Director of Sales and Marketing at the InterContinental Dubai hotel, where his role included improving the hotel’s revenue as well as
improving the productivity from both corporate and leisure segments. During his position with InterContinental Dubai, Haitham and his team were awarded ‘Best
Performance’ for Middle East & Africa by InterContinental Hotels Group for 2004.
