Shangri-La named Best Business Hotel Brand in Asia Pacific

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, has been named as the Best Business Hotel Brand in Asia Pacific for the fifth consecutive year in the Business Traveller Asia Pacific magazine's readers' poll. In addition, the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore was voted Best Business Hotel in the World, Best Business Hotel in Asia Pacific and Best Business Hotel in Singapore. The Makati Shangri-La, Manila won Best Business Hotel in Manila and China World Hotel, Beijing won Best Business Hotel in Beijing.

Conducted among the magazine's readership of frequent travellers based mainly in the Asia Pacific region, the poll was distributed to a total of 8,828 subscribers. Results were compiled by market research company TNS Hong Kong and will be published in the October 2005 issue of Business Traveller Asia Pacific.

Former Chief Executive Officer Mr. Tung Chee Hwa of the HKSAR government presented the awards to the winners at a charity award luncheon in Hong Kong dedicated to his preferred charity, Save the Children Hong Kong.

"The past year was not without some interesting challenges. But it's tough times that inspire creative sparks and determination to exceed expectations." said Peggy Teo, Publisher of Business Traveller Asia Pacific.

"The winners as well as the runners-up have impressed our readers with their impeccable commitment to the highest standards of service. They all deserved to take centre stage," she added.
