AWAIR to launch flights to Kuala Lumpur, Batam and Surabaya

AirAsia’s Indonesian low cost airline operations, AWAIR International is to launch its first international route to Kuala Lumpur, and two new domestic routes to Surabaya and Batam from Jakarta.

AWAIR’s maiden international flight to Kuala Lumpur will commence 23rd September 2005. The airline today launched the inaugurall flight from Jakarta to Surabaya on and will commence Jakarta to Batam on 15th September 2005.

In conjunction with the launching of the new routes and celebrating Indonesia’s 60th Independent Day Anniversary, AWAIR is offering 200,000 seats at special launch fares as follows:

Surabaya – Jakarta
from  Rp.60,000 one way

Batam – Jakarta
from Rp.100,000 (SG16.99) one way

Kuala Lumpur – Jakarta
from Rp.170,000 (RM59.99) one way

The promotional fares (excluding airport taxes and fees) are good for travel from the launch date up till 25th March 2006. Seats must be purchased before 15th September 2005.
