SAS Group appoints new Executive VP

Travel News Asia 9 June 2005

Håkan Ericson has been appointed Executive Vice President responsible for Airline Support and Airline Related Businesses, two business areas within the SAS Group, with sales of approximately SEK 17 billion.

Håkan Ericson is 42 years old and a graduate business administrator with extensive experience in the transport industry. He moves to SAS from DHL Freight Europe, where he was Managing Director as well as Head of European Networks.

Between 1997 and 2002, Håkan Ericson was employed by ASG AB/Danzas AB, where he was Executive Vice President and President. Prior to that, between 1990 and 1997, he was Executive Vice President at Fraktarna AB.

"Following a considerable recruitment process, I am pleased that we have found an individual with thorough international experience in the transport industry," said Jørgen Lindegaard, President and CEO of the SAS Group. "In common with airline operations, the two business areas Airline Support and Airline Related Businesses face major changes, including requirements for reduced costs and greater productivity, while it remains important to develop the companies. Håkan Ericson has shown himself able to accomplish such aims in similar industries.

"I also attach great value to his personal characteristics, since, as a member of the Group Management team, he will have extensive influence, not only over the business areas for which he will be responsible, but also over the SAS Group as a whole."

Håkan Ericsson will assume his position on October 1.
