NTA Becomes ASTA's First Strategic Partner of THETRADESHOW

Travel News Asia 8 June 2005

The American National Tour Association (NTA) has signed on as the first Strategic Partner with THETRADESHOW (Travel Retailing and Destination Expo) which will launch in September 2006 in Orlando.

THETRADESHOW will be a 3-day trade show featuring travel suppliers from all over the world, representing every segment of the travel industry. Starting in 2006, the event will take place annually the second week of September and will be held in Orlando in even years and Las Vegas in odd years.

"We are thrilled to be able to count on NTA as a strategic partner in developing and holding THETRADESHOW next year in Orlando and are extremely pleased that they were the first to sign on. NTA is a leader in the industry, whose opinions and input will no doubt add greatly to the quality and ultimate success of the new show format. By working together, we can ensure that THETRADESHOW is a top-notch product for agents and suppliers alike," said American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) President and CEO Kathy Sudeikis, CTC.

"Our involvement with ASTA in THETRADESHOW is another exciting and major step forward in NTA's effort to build member value through alliances with other leaders in the travel industry," NTA Chairman and CEO Ann Thomas, CTP, said. "It also represents a new era in the longstanding relationship between our two associations, as travel agents and tour operators are natural partners. THETRADESHOW, with ASTA and NTA's combined energy, provides a new and important venue for creating those partnerships between agents and NTA members."

As a strategic partner, NTA will be involved in all aspects of the show from overall design to speakers and education.

At THETRADESHOW, September 10-13, 2006, travel sellers will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with suppliers and to learn in-depth about their products.
