AirAsia giving away 2 Million FREE Seats

Travel News Asia 7 December 2005

AirAsia is celebrating its 4th anniversary in spectacular fashion. For the first time since its inception in Dec 2001, AirAsia will embark on a no holds barred regional marketing campaign to give away a whopping 2,000,000 seats for FREE.

These 2,000,000 free seats are available for all domestic and regional flights departing from AirAsia's four hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Senai (Johor), Bangkok (Thailand) and Jakarta (Indonesia). AirAsia presently operates over 100 domestic and regional flights to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, China, Macau, Vietnam, Philippines, and Cambodia.

Kathleen Tan, Executive Vice President - Commercial, AirAsia, said, “This is the first time AirAsia has launched a major regional marketing campaign of such magnitude, and it will be the biggest online free seats campaign ever offered in Asia. Our internet bookings at www.airasia.com have increased to 65% in the last 4 years, making it one of the most successful distribution channels to date. AirAsia has built a wide route network of over 60 destinations across Asia and we feel that it’s an opportune time to celebrate with this 2 million free seats giveaway. This is our gesture of saying a big thank you to our guests and the public who supported and contributed to AirAsia’s success. With our affordable low fares, AirAsia has carried 15 million guests in the region. We hope to enable more Asians in our part of the world to fulfil their dreams to fly for free with our 2 million free seat campaign.”

To be eligible for the 2 million free seats offer, booking must be completed online at www.airasia.com or via mobile.airasia.com (available on GPRS, 3G, EDGE mobile phones or wireless device) between 7th December to 28th December 2005, for travel between 7 Feb 2006 and 10th October 2006.
