Tourism Victoria has appointed public relations agency Michael de Kretser Consultants
(MDK) to handle its publicity work in Singapore for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
The seven-month project will commence in September and culminate with the Commonwealth
Games in Melbourne next year.
MDK will be responsible for providing strategic PR counsel in the activities leading up to the Commonwealth Games with the aim of creating awareness and excitement
for the event.
In addition, the agency will also identify stakeholders and work closely with them to find innovative ways to generate more awareness about Melbourne as a tourist
destination during the period.
“We were looking for a partner that is able to think creatively and yet possess a good understanding and appreciation of Victoria and its heritage. MDK’s track record
demonstrated that they have garnered extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. We are confident that we will be able to drive the campaign
successfully through this partnership,” said Celia Ho, Regional Manager, South Asia.
