Thai Airways International signs Code Share Agreement with Air Madagascar

Travel News Asia 6 June 2005

Thai Airways International recently entered into a code share agreement with Air Madagascar that aims to pave the way towards joint cooperation between the two airlines.

The code share agreement will further encourage tourism to Thailand from Antananarivo and expand THAI’s network to white spot destinations through direct flights between the two countries. In addition, the agreement is also expected to boost the number of visitors travelling each year as Bangkok will also be used as a hub to feed tourists into Madagascar. Malagasy people will find it much easier to travel a direct flight to Bangkok, since THAI has cooperated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to open an outpost at Antananarivo to facilitate visa issuance.

Mr. Andriamialisoa, Senior Vice President, Commercial Department for Air Madasgascar said that this cooperation is a pride and joy for Madasgascar to be associated with THAI through the code share agreement on Bangkok – Antananarivo – Bangkok.
