Singapore launches Project Postcard

Travel News Asia 5 August 2005

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is launching its Project Postcard for the third consecutive year – this time with prizes worth more than S$60,000.

A Celebrate Singapore event marking Singapore’s 40th birthday, this year’s Project Postcard will see 40 lucky Project Postcard senders winning Metro shopping cards with pre-stored values of S$200, and The Retreat spa treatments worth more than S$100. Of these, 5 lucky Grand Prize winners will win an additional 4 days/3 nights stay at the Fullerton Singapore and also prizes for the recipient of their postcard. Prizes for the overseas winners include free Singapore Airlines return trips for two to Singapore, S$1000 Metro shopping card and more than S$300 worth of spa treatment from The Retreat. The prizes will be drawn in two draws on 23 August and 5 September.

“Singapore is a cultural melting pot with strong eastern and western influences that are reflected in all aspects of our lifestyle from our festive celebrations to art and architecture. With Project Postcards, we hope all residents will share Singapore’s uniqueness with their overseas friends and family and be Singapore’s strongest advocates. What’s more, with five Grand Prizes consisting of free return air-tickets to Singapore, winning postcard senders and recipients can rendezvous here and experience first-hand Singapore’s unique and enriching offerings,” said Bill Ang, Director Brand Management, STB.

From 5 to 31 August, residents can write to their overseas friends and family on just about anything to stand a chance at winning these attractive prizes. They can choose between two specially-designed prepaid postcard designs, each depicting Singapore as an exciting, vibrant and colourful destination not to be missed. One postcard design showcases Singapore’s array of exciting year-round festivities while the other depicts Singapore’s multi-ethnic blend that combines the traditional with the modern to result in an inimitable, unique lifestyle.

For the month of August, the postcards will be available at various distribution outlets including SingPost offices, Metro stores, ColdStorage, Guardian & McCafe outlets, together with attractions on Sentosa and at the Night Safari.
