New Radisson Hotel opens in Shimla, India

Travel News Asia 5 July 2005

Carlson Hotels Asia Pacific has opened the Radisson Hotel Shimla, the eighth Radisson Hotel to open in India.

Located in Northern India, the new hotel contains 59 guestrooms, including 4 executive suites and 8 deluxe suites which are located across three four-storey sites. The hotel is situated ten minutes from the centre of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh state, and a popular destination for both leisure and business travellers, due to its close proximity to the scenic Indian Himalayas. Each guestroom offers guests views of the picturesque mountain surroundings.

Senior Vice President, South Asia, Mr. K.B Kachru, said, “As the strength of the Indian economy continues, India maintains its importance as a significant growth market for Carlson Hotels. Our expansion in this market is being fuelled by the increased demand for quality accommodation in the major commercial centres, as well as popular leisure and business traveller destinations such as Shimla.”

Developed by Bhagwan Dass Khanna Enterprises Private Limited, the Radisson Hotel Shimla is suited to both domestic and international travellers.

The hotel offers guests a range of food and beverage facilities including the Café Valley Vue, an all-day dining restaurant serving continental, oriental and Indian food. The hotel also contains the Pulse Terrasse Bar and an open-air, terrace deck offering guests extensive views of the hotel’s picturesque surroundings.

Corporate guests are also catered for at the hotel with conference facilities including a banquet hall with capacity for 100 people, secretarial services, a business centre and audio-visual equipment, making it an ideal location for seminars and conventions. Other facilities include a travel and car rental desk and a foreign currency exchange facility.
