Tiger Airways plans to launch flights between Singapore and Cambodia

Search ASIA Travel Tips .com 5 July 2005

Tiger Airways, a Singapore based low cost airline, has received permission from the Singapore aviation authorities to fly daily services to Cambodia and plans, once approval from the Cambodian authorities has been granted, to start flying on the route shortly.

“This is an important development in the expansion of our regional route network as it gives us more efficiency in the use of our aircraft which will enable us to continue offering the lowest fares. Tiger Airways is already operating successfully to Vietnam on its Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi routes and the addition of Cambodia to our list of destinations will expand our paw prints over more of Asia,” said Tiger Airways CEO Tony Davis.

Tiger Airways has won additional valuable traffic rights between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City and will increase its flights weekly from its current four to six flights a week from October 2005.

Mr Davis said Cambodia was an exciting new destination because the country, famous for its Angkor Wat ancient temple complex, has a growing tourism industry. The Cambodian government has also supported investment in the country’s infrastructure development including the new airport and terminal facilities at Phnom Penh.
