Mark Armsden joins Delivering Asia

Delivering Asia has appointed Mark Armsden as Vice-President Communications responsible for launching a new communications department, enhancing the quality solutions the organisation provides clients.

“The travel industry in the region has never been stronger and all forecasts are for continued and sustained growth for the short- to medium-term,” Delivering Asia Managing Director, Joe Cauchi said.

“And that will also mean even more importance will be placed on individual sales and marketing strategies to ensure businesses maintain and increase their market share and for us, having a full-time communications professional, can only enhance Delivering Asia’s already strong reputation.”

Armsden comes to Delivering Asia after almost two years with ,Tourism Australia (formerly the Australian Tourist Commission) where he was responsible for launching and establishing its Business Tourism department for Asia, focusing on the incentive and conference sectors.

Previous to Tourism Australia, Armsden had 18 year’s experience in Australian and Asian media (living in Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and Bangkok), the last eight of those in high-profile positions with regional travel publications TTG Asia and CEI Asia Pacific.

He will divide his time between Hong Kong (Delivering Asia headquarters) and Bangkok (Delivering Asia regional office) during the course of his duties. “I have known both Joe and Mark Simmons (the Director of the Bangkok office) for many years as marketing and sales professionals and have always admired their creativity and ability to understand and adapt to the local issues in the region and to be able to look at them from a regional perspective,” Armsden said.

“Delivering Asia has built itself a solid platform and reputation and I am extremely enthusiastic about coming on board and assisting the team build on that platform.”
