Six Senses Spas to develop European resort spas at Elounda, Greece

Travel News Asia 4 April 2005

Six Senses Spas is to make its European resort debut on the Greek island of Crete, commencing in the Summer of 2005. The spa facilities will serve the three luxury hotels of Elounda S.A. Hotels & Resorts and be a prelude to an impressive ten million dollar Six Senses Spa, which will be developed over the next twelve months.

Located on a peninsular overlooking a stunning expanse of the Aegean Sea, the Six Senses Spa will offer a comprehensive selection of holistic and wellness treatments for rejuvenation and revitalisation to balance the senses.

From the breathtaking hilltop view towards the Gulf of Elounda lays Porto Elounda Deluxe Resort. Designed with respect for the architectural tradition of the location, this unique complex is an oasis of recreation and luxury. The Six Senses Spa offers four treatment rooms – two with en-suite showers, male and female changing facilities, a plunge pool, sauna and a hair salon. A focal point of the spa is the rose-coloured marble hammam, adding a sense of tradition to the therapies.

Considered one of the most exclusive hotels in Greece, the Elounda Peninsula All Suite Hotel is the ideal escape, where one can luxuriate in seafront accommodations with a private jetty, heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus a sauna, garden and steam room. Guests at Elounda Penninsula All Suite Hotel will have exclusive access to the hotel’s Six Senses Spa.

The Six Senses Spa at Elounda Mare Hotel is built on gently sloping land, and reflects the simple discreet luxury that typifies the aesthetic traditions of the island. There are two treatment rooms complimented by sauna and steam facilities, plus two outdoor treatment pavilions in a lush garden setting offering glorious vistas of the sea. The Six Senses Spa will offer guests a wide selection of treatments.

Six Senses Spas’ wide-ranging menu of signature treatments focuses on health, beauty, pampering, stress reduction and revitalization, using pure, natural and environmentally friendly products. Treatments are administered by skilled international therapists and practitioners who blend eastern and western techniques.

Six Senses Spas at the Elounda S.A. Hotels & Resorts join other newly opened Six Senses Spas that are located in hotels and resorts not operated by the group under their brands: Soneva Resorts, Evason Hideaways and Evason Resorts. These include the Six Senses Spas at Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort in Mauritius, Madinat Jumeriah The Arabian Resort in Dubai, and Hotel Arts Barcelona. Other Six Senses Spas that the group will open and operate in 2005 are located in India, Vietnam, Portugal, Turkey and Jordan.
