Gerhard Hecker leaves InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong

Today, Ms. Paddy Lui, Managing Director of Stanford Hotels International, announced the departure of Gerhard Hecker as General Manager of the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong.

Mr. Hecker has held the position since 1990 and has successfully directed the development and all business operations of the hotel during his tenure. “After quite some reflection I decided that 2005 would be a year of great change for me. With the arrival of a milestone birthday and the joy of my recent marriage, I came to the decision that the time was right for a new challenge in my professional life as well. I have greatly enjoyed my 14 years as General Manager of the Hotel, and I had the great pleasure of working in a vibrant, ever-changing environment with a lot of wonderful people. Although I will miss my colleagues and all our loyal guests, I am delighted to start a new page in my life!” stated Mr. Hecker.

Commenting on his departure Ms. Lui said “I thank Gerhard Hecker for his outstanding work as General Manager. InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has benefited from Gerhard’s insightful and strong leadership which established the hotel as one of Hong Kong’s leading 5-star properties. Mr. Hecker will work closely with the Stanford Hotels International Corporate Office as a Management Consultant for properties located both locally and internationally”.

The appointment of a new General Manager is expected to be made shortly.
