Casa del Mar - Langkawi operating as normal

Travel News Asia 4 January 2005

The Casa del Mar, Langkawi, managed by Singapore-based hospitality management company HPL Hotels & Resorts, has reported that it is operating as normal following the devastating Tsunamis that hit the region.

The structure at the Casa del Mar was left unscathed and is still intact and sound, the electricity and water supply were not affected.

The resort was spared the full force of the tsunamis, as it is protected by islands in front of and to the north of the resort. The areas where the tsunami waves reached were the resorts swimming pool, lower patio and front lawn fringing the beach. After a clean up the swimming pool has resumed operation 30th December.

Casa del Mar is a Mediterranean-styled resort situated along Pantai Cenang beach, Langkawi. This two-storey beachfront resort has 29 rooms and suites, and its facilities include a spa, dining room, bar and swimming pool.
