Lim Liang Song has joined Indigo Pacific Partners LLC as a principal. Indigo Pacific is also to open an office in Singapore in February to increase the focus of the firm’s private equity efforts in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region generally.

“We are very excited about Liang Song’s decision to join Indigo Pacific,” said Bill Franke, Managing Partner of the firm. “His airline and transportation management and analytical skills are world class and he brings an encyclopedic knowledge of those industries in Asia. Private equity is a natural next step in Liang Song’s career, and we look forward to his participation in our global transportation investment strategy as we grow our business in the Asian region.”

“The opportunity to join Indigo Pacific is a terrific one,” said Lim. “I had been interested in the investment business for some time, but Indigo Pacific presented an opportunity that allowed me to make an immediate contribution using my experience and contacts—with one of the pre-eminent transportation private equity funds, anxious to develop its business in Singapore and Asia.”

Lim joins Indigo Pacific after fifteen years with Singapore Airlines where he held a variety of management positions. For the past five years he has served as SIA’s Vice President - Company Planning, with responsibility for corporate planning activities including merger and acquisition strategies, fleet planning including aircraft evaluation and acquisition, and fuel procurement and hedging. Prior to holding that position, Lim held positions in the marketing and operations areas at SIA, including General Manager Scandinavia, Manager Southern India, and Regional Marketing Manager North Asia, and in cargo and industrial relations.

Lim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Language, and a Diploma in Education from the National University of Singapore, and a Master of Finance from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Lim also studied at the Advanced Management Programme at INSEAD.

Indigo Pacific has taken space in the Centennial Tower in Singapore and expects to open its office in February. The office will provide the firm with a more significant presence in Singapore and Southeast Asia and facilitate the firm’s pursuit of investment opportunities in the region.

Indigo Pacific Partners is a private equity investment fund established by William A. Franke to pursue acquisitions and strategic investments and to respond to requirements for capital coupled with management expertise in underserved economic sectors. Indigo Pacific, along with its affiliate Indigo Partners, have emerged as an important sponsor of airline and airline related opportunities and have invested in Tiger Airways, a new entrant low cost airline based in Singapore, and Wizz Air, a new entrant low cost airline with operations based in Budapest and Katowice and Gdansk, Poland.
