The
St. Regis Hotel, Shanghai has appointed Mercedes Yao as Director of
Sales and promoted David Katemopoulos from Director of Sales & Marketing / Executive Assistant
Manager to Hotel Manager.
Mercedes
Yao previously held the position of Director of Sales at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Shanghai. In her new role, she will be overseeing all sales
activities and strategies for the St. Regis Hotel, Shanghai.
Ms Yao has more than 10 years of sales experience in various industries. A native of Shanghai, Ms. Yao speaks Mandarin, English and Shanghaiese. Ms. Yao graduated
from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management.
David Katemopoulos
joined the St. Regis Hotel, Shanghai in 2001 as part of the pre opening team.
Mr. Katemopoulos has more than 20 years of sales and marketing management experience with luxury hotels and sales centers, including a 13-year career with the
Peninsula Group in Hong Kong, serving in various management positions since 1988.
Fluent in English and three Chinese dialects, Mr. Katemopoulos will oversee all aspects of the hotel’s day to day operation.
