Executive moves at Central Hotels & Resorts

Central Hotels & Resorts has transferred Mr. David Good from Group Director of Operations to Group Director-Projects & Openings and appointed Mr. Jean Marc Lafosse as Mr.Goods successor. Both report directly to Mr.Gerd Steeb, Executive Vice President.

Mr. David Good is responsible for taking charge of the operational aspects of all new hotel projects, from initial project planning, through the pre-opening phase, up to the completion of the project. He is also responsible for coordinating the operations of hotels acquired under management. 

He graduated with a degree in Hotel and Institutional Management from North London University in 1981. He has also attended several post-graduate courses at Cornell University.

Mr.Good has more than 20 years of International Hotel industry experience behind him, including General Manager of several hotels, four years with Central Hotels & Resorts as the General Manager of the Central Samui Beach Resort, prior to his promotion to Group Director of Operations. He held the post of Group Director of Operations for 4 years before assuming his present position. 

Mr. David Good has also worked in Asia for Dusit Hotels & Resorts and Amari Hotels & Resorts. Before working in Asia, he held several management positions in hotels in the United Kingdom Forte Hotels; Edwardian Hotels and Renaissance.

Replacing David Good, Jean Marc Lafosse is responsible for coordinating the operations functions of all existing hotels and facilitating the standardization of the policies and procedure, to enable maximum efficiencies to be obtained for each property, financial profitability and company growth.

A graduate from the hotel school in Paris, Jean Marc Lafosse a French citizen brings to Central more than 28 years of expertise in the hotel industry. He held some managerial positions in the Middle East in Iran, Syria, Iraq, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt with the Hilton and Le Meridien Group of hotels before turning his eyes on Asia: Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

His first experience in Thailand was in 1990 where he held a General Manager Position in Chiang Mai with an International hotel group. After Thailand, Lafosse joined the Allson Group of Hotels & Resorts based in Malaysia, for the last twelve years, where from a position of General Manager, he was promoted to Director of Development and later to the top position of Vice President in charge of 12 properties.
