AirAsia launches GoCar

Travel News Asia 29 March 2005

AirAsia has partnered with Asian Rent-A-Car, a subsidiary of the Scomi Group, to produce GoCar.

AirAsia’s GoCar works just like a car rental program, but the company claims at more affordable rates and convenience. Car rental rates start from just RM 30 per day. Reservations can be made online at AirAsia's website. GoCar will be initially offered at the following airports: KL International Airport (KLIA), Senai International Airport (Johor Bahru), Penang and Kuantan.

Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer, AirAsia commented on the new product offering, “We recognized that today’s busy lifestyle requires increased convenience and initiative from service providers to offer a comprehensive product which not only save money, but also time. By offering a unique series of services under one roof at www.airasia.com, we are empowering our guests to research and book unique holiday options in the comfort of their own home 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

GoCar is one of the many services that AirAsia would be introducing throughout the year. We expect ancillary income, such as from these additional online services, to contribute to our bottom line.”
