Travel News Asia 28 August 2005

Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts has appointed Hany El Khanagry as the Director of Sales and Marketing for its fourth property in Egypt, the Radisson SAS Resort, El Quseir.

Egyptian national El Khanagry (43) has more than 15 years experience of the country’s hospitality industry, having worked in hotels in Cairo, Hurghada and the Red Sea region. Married with one daughter, he has held senior sales and marketing positions in Egypt’s first-class hotels.

“Hany’s comprehensive knowledge of the region will be a real asset to the property,” said Craig Senior, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Rezidor SAS Hospitality Middle East. “Where possible, we try to recruit local talent in accordance with our responsible business practices to maintain a good balance of nationalities within our hotels.

“Hany’s industry experience and contacts within the corporate sector will be very important in the pre-opening phase of this new resort. We welcome him to Radisson SAS and to the El Quseir team.”

Radisson SAS already manages properties in the Red Sea region, including resorts in Taba and Sharm El Sheikh. The latest property in the brand’s portfolio - the Radisson SAS El Quseir - is due to open in December this year.

One of the oldest ports on the Red Sea, the town of El Quseir lies 150km south of Hurghada and is steeped in tradition. The hotel offers a quaint and relaxing destination with unspoilt beaches and crystal clear waters. The resort has been built to blend in with the surrounding architecture and features natural stone, tiles and plasterwork, and accompanying waterfalls and fountains.

The 250-bedroomed property will offer three first-class restaurants as well as a café, lounge bar and poolside bar. The guestrooms, furnished in three distinct styles – Safari, Quseiri and Ocean – offer sea views. With a fully equipped Wellness and Fitness centre featuring plunge pools, massage rooms and gym, the hotel blends tradition with the latest technology, including state-of-the-art conference and meeting facilities.
