New General Managers for Accor Hotels in China

Accor Asia Pacific has made the following appointments at its hotels in China.

Ron Podlas has recently rejoined Accor to be General Manager of Novotel Baiyun Airport Guangzhou in China (schedule to open October 2005). Ron originally started with the company in 1995 as General Manager of the Sofitel Hotel in Phnom Penh Cambodia and later worked for the group in both Thailand and the USA.

Francis Wang is the new General Manager of Panorama Century Court Shanghai. Francis is the first national of China PRC to be named manager of an Accor hotel. He started with the group in 1999 as Executive Assistant Manager of Sofitel Hyland Shanghai and was most recently Resident Manager of Sofitel Boao on Hainan Island.

Antony Platford has been appointed General Manager of Sofitel Xanadu Resort Hangzhou, which is scheduled to open late 2005. Antony was most recently Executive Assistant Manager of Sofitel Melbourne. After rejoining Accor in 2001, Antony initially worked with the Australian Sales & Marketing office and was later appointed Manager of the Hotel Ibis Melbourne. 

Joseph Mak has been named General Manager of Sofitel Zhengzhou. Joseph joined Accor in 2000 as Resident Manager at Novotel Peace Beijing and he was most recently Hotel Manager for Sofitel International Hotel Anshan during its pre-opening preparation.
